Hyderabad: The Telangana budget session commenced on Wednesday with Governor Jishnu Dev Verma addressing the joint session of the State Legislature. In his speech, the Governor emphasised Telangana’s remarkable progress and unveiled a forward-looking vision for the state’s development across multiple sectors.
The Governor highlighted Telangana’s emergence as an industrial powerhouse, credited to proactive policies and an investor-friendly ecosystem. The State’s specialised industrial parks -catering to sectors like pharmaceuticals, IT, renewable energy, and food processing - foster innovation and empower local entrepreneurs.
About the government’s focus on MSMEs, the Governor said through financial aid, technology support, and global market access the government ensures smaller businesses thrive. Telangana’s participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos secured investments worth Rs1,78,950 crore, promising 49,500 new jobs across green energy, electric vehicles, and defence manufacturing, he said. This influx of capital and innovation is set to position Telangana as a national leader in technological and industrial advancement, Jishnu Dev recalled. The Governor said, recognising its rich cultural heritage and diverse landscapes, the State has launched its first-ever Tourism Promotion Policy. This initiative aims to develop unique tourist circuits, enhance infrastructure, and promote niche tourism segments like temple tourism, eco-tourism, and adventure tourism. About the Future City, the Governor said, the net-zero city will integrate smart infrastructure, sustainable industries, and inclusive residential areas. Clusters dedicated to AI, pharmaceuticals, and advanced manufacturing will coexist with seamless multimodal transport and metro connectivity.
